Some celebrations are big and elaborate. Others are simply about having the people you love most around you.

For Paul and Eli, their time in Taiwan was a little bit of both.

They got in touch with me to photograph several meaningful events — their marriage registration at Daan Household Registration Office (大安戶政事務所), a celebration with their closest friends, and a couple shoot around Taipei to document their time together in Taipei.

From an intimate triumph at the household registration office to a dressed-up dinner and cocktails with friends, followed by wandering through the streets of Taipei together, it was a few days filled with a lot of happiness, laughter, and love.

Making It Official


The first part of their story began at Daan 戶政事務所, where Paul and Eli officially registered their marriage.

While the paperwork itself might seem like a simple administrative moment, there's something special about being there with a camera to document it.

The signatures, the nervousness, their friends being there to support them— these are the details that are small but are truly worth remembering.

Capturing Just-Married Joy


After making their marriage official, Paul and Eli headed to nearby Daan Park to simply enjoy the feeling of being newly married.

There was no big agenda or elaborate setup — just the couple and their friends, finally able to slow down and take in the moment.

We walked around the park, capturing their excitement, laughter, and the little moments of affection between them. After the formality of the registration, it was a chance to let loose and celebrate in their own way.

Sometimes, those quiet moments right after a big milestone are the ones worth remembering most.

A Night With Their Closest Friends


After making things official, it was time to celebrate.


Paul and Eli gathered their closest friends for a special evening together, everyone dressed up and ready to celebrate their big moment.


We started with dinner at Grand Hyatt Taipei, where the atmosphere was elegant but still relaxed enough for everyone to let loose and enjoy themselves.

There were plenty of laughs, conversations, drinks, and those little moments between friends that happen naturally when everyone is genuinely happy to be together.


After dinner, the group moved on to a beautiful cocktail bar, where the surroundings gave the evening a completely different atmosphere.

The beautiful decorations, dressed-up guests, cocktails, and warm energy made it feel like a proper celebration — the kind of night where nobody is in a hurry to go home.


For me, these are some of the most rewarding events to photograph.

Not just the big moments, but everything happening around them.


The hugs.

The laughter.

The ridiculous faces.

The quiet conversations.

The friends celebrating a couple they clearly care about.



It was a night that felt less like a formal wedding event and more like a group of close friends coming together to celebrate two people they love.

A Love Story Through the Streets of Taipei


Besides capturing their celebration of their marriage with family and friends, Paul and Eli also wanted to document their love in Taipei, the place where Eli is from, together — exploring the city, eating the food they loved, going down memory lane of when they started dating.


We wandered through Dihua Street, Ximen, and Huian Park, letting each location relive part of their story.

From stopping for Taiwanese food to running through the streets and being silly together, I wanted the photos to feel less like a traditional couple photoshoot and more like a collection of scenes from their own movie.


They were clearly happiest when they were simply together — eating, exploring, laughing, and enjoying whatever came next.

So rather than forcing them into a series of poses, I gave them space to interact naturally and stepped in with direction when needed.


Visually, I wanted to turn those little moments into still frames from a romantic movie — the kind of photographs that make you remember not just what Taipei looked like, but what it felt like to experience it together.


From the old streets of Dihua to the energy of Ximen and the quieter moments at Huian Park, their time in Taipei was etched another chapter in their story — one filled with good food, new experiences, and two people having fun together.

More Than Just a Wedding Celebration


What I loved about photographing Paul and Eli was that I wasn't just there for one moment.


I got to document a series of unforgettable events of their lives, from making their marriage official, to celebrating with the people closest to them, while also taking photos of their time together in Taipei.


Each part had a completely different feeling.

But together, they tell a much bigger story.


It's shoots like these that remind me why I love my job. I get to document these special moments, so they can be relived over, and over again.
